Experience
Claire is a director in the Isle of Man Advisory Department which she set up in 2019 and has expanded to 6 staff currently. This multi-disciplinary team offers the local Isle of Man market access to a wide-ranging set of skills which can be augmented with the expertise of Grant Thornton Ireland. Team offerings include business valuations, regulatory compliance review and remediation, project management, internal audit along with complex and solvent liquidations and corporate restructuring.
Following two years working in a private bank, Claire moved into accountancy and after qualification as a chartered accountant she specialised in insolvency and restructuring. Claire has managed a wide variety of cases including contentious court liquidations, receiverships and management of bankruptcy estates, working to locate, seize, market and sell assets all over the world that have been owned through Manx companies and structures. Claire has worked closely with the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority and various local lawyers on a number of investigations into director conduct leading to high profile local director disqualifications.
Recent work has seen Claire coordinating projects for the Isle of Man Government and drawing on wider Grant Thornton subject matter expertise from the network to deliver cutting edge work to the local Isle of Man market.
Outside of work Claire enjoys spending downtime at the yard with her horses, along with riding on the island and touring farther afield on her motorbikes.
