Other Significant Taxes
Value Added Tax
The Isle of Man forms a common customs area with the United Kingdom. Accordingly, for almost all
practical purposes, the Value Added Tax regime in the Isle of Man is the same as that in the United
Kingdom, although it is administered by the Customs and Excise Division of the Isle of Man Treasury,
and not by any United Kingdom agency or authority.
The VAT numbers issued are ‘GB’ numbers.
Other Taxes
There is no capital gains tax, inheritance tax, death duty, wealth tax or stamp duty. Rates are
payable on commercial industrial and domestic property according to their value.
